Wedding Week Series: Getting ready for the Big Day
Happy Saturday guys! Today is day 3 of my WEDDING WEEK SERIES and I am so excited to share with you guys what I have been doing in preparation for my Wedding in reference to pampering, health, and beauty!
I am going to tell you that I started later in my engagement to start working out consistently and trying to add better food products to my diet, but in full transparency the reasoning behind why I started doing these things wasn’t necessarily for my Wedding, but for my health. I was in the hospital in late January because of some health issues that I have dealt with my entire life, but recently have become more apparent and serious. I began to push myself and become more excited about working out and trying different foods and even added a detox tea that helps boost metabolism because I focused on my Wedding and knowing that I wanted to be healthy and feeling my best! Over the summer my workout sessions dwindled due to the scorching heat and I struggled again for a few months, but as the day creeped up on us I kicked myself in overdrive. What I did to stay active in preparation for my Wedding Day is running, ab workouts, and full body workouts. I absolutely loved sporting my “SWEATING FOR THE WEDDING” tank from my Miss to Mrs. Bridal Box subscription! I also made a big change and cut out soda almost completely, which if you know me is a huge deal! I even purchased a 28 day detox tea from Slimmer Organix and actually saw a difference in my bloat and water weight! Although I am sure that it would have been more effective if I was working out more during the time that I was drinking this detox tea. I can atest to the taste. At first I was a little put off by it, especially by the smell being so strong, but by the second day I was loving it. I think my tatsebuds needed to get used to something different and I also believe that it was a mind over matter situation for me because I was really motivated to do the detox. The tea is full of great natural ingredients and I definitely recommend it!
For beauty I really started to care about what products I wanted to use and place on my body. I have never really been the one to use much of anything as far as a face wash or cream, I had never done teeth whitening until recently and I have been fortunate enough to not have very many skin issues for me to have to use various products. I have noticed since I have gotten older my skin and teeth are changing. I never had any issues with my teeth yellowing until recently and decided to take some preventions to help remove and possibly cease the issue. I kind of started late to this section of preparation as well seeing as I started the whitening procedures 30 days from the big day! So I went to Target and I purchased the Colgate Optic White Overnight Teeth Whitening Pen and let me tell you… It WORKS! I was so skeptical at first but after about 4 days I started to tell a difference and have used it everyday since. I am so happy with the way my teeth look and can't wait to show my teeth in my Wedding photos! When it comes to my skin I have noticed that my dark circles have become more aparent and I am breaking out more than I ever have. I never really had any issues with acne while going through puberty and up until this point. It still isn’t bad compared to a lot of people, but has definitely become more frequent for my normalcy. (I think part of it can be caused from having to wear a mask all of the time because my breakouts are mainly on my chin) I have begun exfoliating my skin more often and making sure to wash my face everyday. I have also started wearing a mask that I received in a Fab Fit Fun Gift box, that I wear every night and and wash off in the morning. (I could not find a link) This mask is supposed to hydrate and firm your skin, so I have seen a significant change in the softness and glow of my face. I definitely feel more rejuvenated and awake in the morning since I have been using it. I have always had problems with chapped lips. As far back as I can remember I have always worn and had to have chapstick with me at all times because my lips become really dry and it is just so uncomfortable. I noticed a few months ago that my lips were beginning to peel and I was not sure if maybe that was caused from the summer heat or if it was just the lipsticks I was wearing. (My lips peel off and on every year) But I knew that I wanted to do something about it because my Wedding was so close and I did not want to have one of those dry crack days on that specific special day so I took some initiative and ordered a lip scrub from amazon. This scrub is a 2 part mask, one is the exfoliating repair side and the other a hydrating lip balm. I decided to go with this one because I love the idea of both an exfoliant and a moisturizer, especially since I use chapstick so much, it is just perfect for me!
I knew that I really wanted to get serious about this beauty and prep and pampering stuff when I watched a YouTube video by Jamie Wolfer, she is a Wedding Planner and I randomly came across her channel one day and binged watched a lot of her content and learned a lot of stuff that I had yet to do that I had not even thought about doing as far as this subject goes. It was crunch time because we were six weeks away when I came across that video! So I immediately began planning out what I wanted to do and that included a facail, making sure my eyebrows were waxed and shaped, and of course my teeth and my skin care. I actually had my facial yesterday morning at Rosewater Spa and Wellness! I throughouly enjoyed every second of my pampering Facail, massage, and eyebrow waxing. I can honestly say that is the fanciest and most relaxing Eyebrow wax and shaping I have ever had! I chose a facial that included a bit of a shoulder and chest massage which helped tremendously by relieving the tension in my shoulders and helped me relax even more. I also chose not to get a chemical peel or any type of harsh treatment for my skin because my Wedding is only 4 days away! So instead I went for a deep cleansing and exfoliating one, which was a great choice by the way. I am so happy with the results and I was even given a couple sample sizes of products to help with breakouts. Including one that will help stop the growth and spread pretty much immediately. Thanks to them I am now fully prepared and do not have to worry one bit about my skin. So now I can focus on my next and pretty much last step of the wedding pamerpering and relaxing venture of Getting a mani pedi! I will not have these done until the 14th, day before the wedding, because I do not want to accidentally mess them up or they get chipped, so I opted for that date. I will be sharing photos on my Social media so stay tuned for that!
So that is all you guys! I really hope you liked what I did in preparation for my WEDDING DAY! I really do hope that this helps someone for their upcoming day, especially if you think that you are forgetting something or are unsure of what to do, these are the things that were most important and that worked for me!
4 days left until I DO!
