Wedding Planning Vol. 1

Today marks 2 months of being engaged to the man of my dreams!! I am so excited to be getting married. The process is very fun and yet —— all at the same time —— very STRESSFUL!

Everything is all worth it because in the end I get to spend forever with my man! The past 2 months have been filled with Wedding planning. Most people have said I am on the ball. My reason for getting all of the big things out of the way now is to hopefully relieve some of the stress that will come down the road. The Venue, DJ, and Photographer are already taken care of. All of which were done before the first month had even ended. When I told people this some were WOW that is awesome, but others were wondering why I am worried about all of this now instead of enjoying my engagement. Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely enjoying my engagement!! I love showing off my ring and everytime Brandon gets brought up I get to say my FIANCE' (which is so cool)! Besides Brandon and I got engaged a month and 15 days before the Wedding date. Yes, it was set before we were even engaged. The date is on our 3 year anniversary (almost 11 months away). Which some would say is cliche' but I am the type of person that will have 2 anniversaries if we don't get married on the date we became official. I know, I know Wedding date trumps the other one, but not in my book lol. I also just love how our date flows —— 10•15•20 —— just sounds perfect.

The stressors that come with wedding planning. Well there are quite a few of them. The most common one, BUDGET!! Especially with couples that don’t have a lot of money lying on hand. I have always been very careful with my money and have saved a good bit over the years. Now that I have a wedding, honeymoon, reception, and all of the little parties that come with a marriage, it is by far the most money I have spent at one time in my entire life! And it is very scary to think about! Of course getting everything organized is another big hassel to accomplish. Since the beginning I grabbed a binder and placed all the information I was accumulating inside. This way I have been able to stay saine and know where all of the answers to any questions will be. One thing that gave me a lot of tension were my rings. I had to get them resized twice!! And it takes two weeks to get them restored because the jewler sends the rings out to be fixed in anyway. What really caused me to become frustrated was the fact that when I got my rings back I noticed that there was actually a diamond missing on the left side of the band!! Ugghh!!! Like really!! The rings also still flew off of my finger when I shook my hand. So in total I had my ring for 34 hours since Brandon proposed. I had REAL ring withdrawals!! (By rings plural I mean my wedding band and engagement ring)

Finally all of the minute details that have to be figured out. Where is this specific sign going to go? What table are you going to place the gifts on? What color do you want the napkins? And many many many more!! It is crazy to think how much actually goes into planning a wedding. I remember when I was younger a lot of little girls already had their weddding planned out. Not ME! I looked at those girls and said, “That's to much work for me. I’m lazy!” lol But now here I am planning my entire wedding, down to every single detail. To be honest, some things just do not matter to me. For instance, what kind of shoes and jewlery the bridesmaids wear, I have no preference. The dresses are long and cover their feet so why should it matter. It is better to let go of some of the details or little things that do not make or break your wedding. This helps with the anxiety of it all.

This past month we have gotten our Honeymoon booked and gotten our Engagement pictures taken. If you still have not seen those just click the NEXT button down below and take a look at the magic my BFF did! I have also designed our Save the Dates so we can go ahead and get those out of the way. This weekend I am going wedding decor shopping which I am super excited about.

Coming up this month…. Wedding dress shopping and more wedding decor!!

Despite the pressure for everything to be perfect, I have greatly loved being engaged to my forever love. We still have 11 months to go until we say I DO and then forever officially begins!!

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!!
