What's Happening in January

January is actually one of the less eventful months that I have had in a while. Everyone is coming down from the holidays and trying to get back into the normal daily routine. Going back to work or school is one of the least favorable things for some people. I know for me I was enjoying being able to sleep in and spend time with family. Now that we are in the middle of this month things have gone back to the norm.

This month I have enjoyed getting to come back together with old friends, still throwing those “ragers” at my house lol, and using this Winter candle Brandon’s Mom got for us. I am currently in the middle of trying to slowly re-decorate my home. I am doing this because I want my home to start to feel like an adult place, not a reenactment of my teenage bedroom, which is what it currently feels like to me. So I am slowly getting everything switched around and having newer simple pieces to accent our home. I am paying for a Wedding at the same time so everything will be coming together very slowly. Last week I began with buying a new tray to put in the middle of the Coffee Table and I took down the plaques we had lining the wall in the space that is supposed to act as the dining area.  I have replaced those pieces with a few blown up photos from me and Brandon’s Engagement photo shoot. (Be sure to check that out on Our Love Story Page) I am a very sentimental person, especially when it comes to photos of friends and family so my house is currently covered in these. This may also be apart of the problem I am having with this space because it feels a little cluttered do to all of the pictures and nick-knacks I have accumulated over the years. It is definitely going to be a struggle trying to decide what will stay and what will have to go into photo albums. I may need to invest in another curio cabinet to place my trinket’s in. Most of the redecorating that I want to do will have to wait until after Brandon and I get married because I will be using a few key pieces from that special day to have our home come together.

The most nerve racking and yet exciting part about this month is that I will be leaving for training to become a banker the last week of this month. I am so excited to be able to learn more about the field that I am in and have a better knowledge to be able to help people along the way. I am nervous to do this because it is a lot more information to be obtained. It will be especially hard because this subject can come off boring and this is not exactly what I am fully passionate about, but getting to help people get their financial life together is something that I do take pride in therefore this will be a great experience. Not to mention I do get a pay raise!

It is Winter right? It is mid-January and it is 70 degrees outside (Well it is while I am typing this). That is some spring weather. Living in Georgia definitely is bi-poplar, but hey I am a tiny person which in-turn makes for a girl who freezes very easily, so I am not complaining. I do want to complain about the rain! I KNOW, I KNOW  we need it! I just hate driving in it, especially at night. I mean I am blind enough as it is, having it pour every other day does not help. To be honest I may just need some better and brighter headlights in my car as well as some new windshield wipers and it may help with that issue. Not to mention that rain just makes you tired and want to stay in bed all-day long cuddling and watching movies! I guess with the gloominess comes the lives of are plants, so I will end my rant here.

Well Like I said January is not that exciting, but I am looking forward to moving up in my job and continuing to make my home look more like a married couple lives here instead of a teenage girl. Thanks for checking in! I look forward to sharing Valentines Day Plans and my $30 décor shopping trip for the upcoming holiday!
