Wedding Update Vol. 2

A lot has happened since the last update I posted. It is now 10 months away from the “I DO” day and I have (to remind everyone of the progress) secured the Photographer, booked a DJ, and picked the Venue. All three of which are ready and waiting. In January we have our next payment for the Venue due and the DJ. After my taxes come back the Photographer will be completely payed off. Also during this time Planning sessions for the Venue will be scheduled and the wedding day schedule for the photographer will be completed.

As of right now I just bought my Wedding Dress! I am super excited about it. It just accents me perfectly! My veil was delivered last Thursday which just made it all the more real! As for an update on the Bridesmaid dresses, I have decided to let my girls decide on what style they want to wear. With my approval of course. I have girls that are not all the same size and I know that one particular dress is not going to look the best on them all. I want them to feel confident and comfortable in the dress and be able to use it again if they choose. Thankfully I have 2 girls that have already gotten their dress. They both came from this new formal wear store In the Augusta Mall called Windsor. My sister, the MOH, and another on the line up got hers from there. They both look gorgeous in them! The dresses are still black and floor length and I am excited to see what the rest of my beautiful girls choose! As for the boys there really hasn’t been a change. I believe we are still going with a purple vest and a bow tie. I need to figure out which shade of purple I would like them in, but other than that the clothing is in order.

Now for the décor! I have figured out which centerpieces I want to use. I plan on having floating candles in 4 different sized vases at the center of the table. I bought some purple crystals from Michaels that will go at the bottom of the cylinder vases and I have yet to decide which kind of flower I am going to have floating in the middle. I have the vases and the electric floating candles in my amazon cart. (I will order them after the holidays and my bank account has a chance to breath again) I have to use electric candles because we are using the Venues linens for the reception tables therefore we cannot have open flame. I also have the table runners on standby. These I will be getting from the Tablecloth company, I am getting these for a steal, $6 and some odd change… ummm… yes please! These will be a darker purple with a sheer material.  As for the Ceremony space, I have ordered a beautiful backdrop from Blushing Drops that has our saying and Wedding date on it. I am super excited and cannot wait to have this beauty hanging behind us as we become MR and MRS! The sort-of- Pergola we are getting married under will have sheer light purple curtains from Amazon (can you tell I love amazon) that will loop and hang down from the top. There will also be some accent flowers to bring the scene into full scope. Like a traditional Isle, mine will be roped off with the same curtains from amazon. The exception, they will be white and will have a mixture of light and dark purple ribbons that will hang down in loops staying centered in the middle of the chevon curtain. I will have an isle runner. I have yet to find one. Hopefully I will find somewhere I can rent it from. If you have any ideas, please feel free to leave me a comment below. (CSRA area) I have planned to have our wedding sign be a mirror, this way we can have it hang in our home without any clash with the décor. I also feel like this is more of an elegant choice than a piece of would or a picture. I have the decal figured out and will be ordered from Etsy. I have been trying desperately to find the perfect mirror for the occasion. The frame is the hardest part to figure out. I want one that I love and has a neutral color, but also doesn’t look cheap and yet get it for a bargain. See my dilemma? If you have any suggestions on the frame or the mirror please let me know!

As for the other venders I have accumulated — well there isn’t much In that department. The past month I have bee focused on figuring out the décor aspect. I now know what I want, I just have to front the money to get it. Brandon’s parents have graciously decided to provide and cook the feast for the wedding. (his dad is a CHEF!!) Since the last update I have gotten the Save-The-Dates printed out and ready to go. I am awaiting Brandon’s side of the guest list so I can go ahead and get them enveloped and addressed. This way when the time comes for them to be sent out all I have to do is grab the box and drop them at the post office! Easy peasy. I have completed as much of the budget and expenses that I am able to at this point. I am the type of person that likes everything written out and ready to go. This way I know exactly where I am and what else needs to be done. Lastly, I need some much needed help on a wedding hashtag! Please! I want something unique to Brandon and I. Something that isn’t common to every couple. You can imagine how hard that is lol. If you need more info and want to help please feel free to contact me through my social media or leave a comment. Any help is appreciated!

There is definitely a lot more wedding planning to come! For instance a date to go wedding cake testing will be set as well as finding the perfect florist to do the bouquets and certain accent floral displays. The closer it gets the more excited I am becoming! I hope you all enjoyed this update on my special day. Check back for more updates!
