5 Senses Valentine's Day Present
Long weekends are my favorite! Welcome back to my Blog! My posts have been sporadic the past couple of weeks but I am glad to be back and sharing with you a semi DIY Valentines Day gift that can really be used in many forms! The 5 SENSES VALENTINES!
This special project can be used for your Significant Other, your Children, a Friend, or even your Parents. Of course I will be using this project for my Husband, did I mention it is our first Married Valentines Day together! To learn how to create this special gift… KEEP READING!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
● POSTER BOARD
● 5 GIFT BAGS & GIFTS
● MARKERS
OPTIONAL:
● VALENTINES STICKERS
● FOAM HEARTS
● CHALK MARKER
(Unfortunately I forgot to take before pictures of the poster board, chalk marker, and Valentines card)
HOW TO:
There are a few different ways you can create this very personal Valentines Day Gift. Depending on the size of your presents or your wrapping preference determines the look that you want to go for. You can pretty much create this anyway that you want with your own creative mind and wills. Just as long as you have 5 gifts that represent some form of the 5 Senses. So you do you!
How I created my Hudband’s gift was a more simpler way. I bought 2 packs of white paper gift bags and permanent markers form the dollar store to start. I began to use the red marker on the white bags but realized that it just was not creating the look I was going for. I grabbed a few more things from Walmart. This includes the red foam hearts, the foam Valentines Day Stickers, a black poster board (you can do any color you would like. I thought that white was too bright and would need a lot of love and having red would just be too much) and the rest of his gifts. The Chalk Marker is from Target. (I did not realize I needed this until after the permanet markers would not show up on the black poster board I bought)
For the Creation process I took the white gift bags and outlined the trim with the red Permanet Marker to give it depth and color. I then took each Red Foam heart that I had written each sense on with a black marker, and taped them evenly in the middle to each bag. This concluded the gift bag preparation. Super easy and it only takes 10 minutes depending on how much of a perfectionist you are.
After this I began working on the Poster Board. I first again taped the remaining foam hearts I had to all four corners of the poster board. I then wrote with a red permanent marker “I LOVE YOU WITH ALL OF MY SENSES" (Another popular option that you can use in place of that phrase is, Life with you makes Perfect Sense!) I decided on the more traditional one that I feel ties the gifts in with the poster board better. Unfortunately I realized the the markers I had purchased were not showing up on the black background so I resorted to the White Chalk Marker. (More like white Crayon!) It all worked out perfectly though because as you will see in the photos below that the white letters made perfect symmetry with the Card!
After filling in the middle portion of the board I still felt like something was missing. I brought the black permanent marker back into play and I wrote 4 personal Valentines/our relationship related phrases on each foam heart. I then took the rest of my foam heart stickers and placed them around the poster board. Besides the marker misshap this portion of the DIY project was fairly easy as well and did not take me long to finish.
After the poster was finished I moved back to the Gift bags. I placed each personalized gift that was dedicated to represent one of the 5 senses into the designated paper bag. Finishing the wrapping by folding red tissue paper around the gift in each bag. When this step was completed all that was left was to write a sweet love note to my honey inside his Valentines Day card that I may add goes perfectly with our relationship!
I had so much fun creating this new and creative Valentines Day gift that is for sure a refreshing unique way to celebrate. This year I will be doing a cute set up to welcome my Husband home and I am so happy that I was able to find this perfect way to do it.
There are plenty of ways to create this gift for your Significant Other. Whether it be a cute innocent way or going for the more sexy and illusive way! I opted for the in-between! (I am going to keep the actual gifts to myself on this one) I hope this gives you all some inspiration for next Valentines Day or maybe even use it for a special Anniversary Surprise!
